Student Publications Program
What is it?
From HER, For HER — Student Publications Program is a student-led publication initiative focused on women’s health. Students explore conditions, inequities, and disparities that genuinely interest them and deepen their understanding by connecting research to real-world impact. Through well-researched, thoughtfully written articles, contributors examine not only the science behind women’s health issues, but also the social and community contexts in which they exist. The program offers a structured platform for young women to educate others, amplify underrepresented perspectives, and engage in meaningful academic inquiry beyond the classroom.
How can I get published?
Students interested in publishing through From HER, For HER begin by selecting a women’s health condition or disparity they are genuinely curious about. This could include a specific condition (e.g., endometriosis, osteoporosis, polycystic ovary syndrome), a health disparity affecting certain communities (e.g., access to maternal healthcare, cardiovascular outcomes among women, mental health inequities), or another area of women’s health that interests you.

Review & Publication
All submissions will be reviewed by a medical professional.
Articles will also be checked for originality, including any AI-generated content.
Feedback may be added directly in your Google Doc.
Accepted articles will be edited for grammar and formatting, then published as part of the January Edition on the platform.
No prior publishing experience is required — students are supported every step of the way, from choosing a topic to seeing their work published.
An article is an original, well-structured written piece that explores a focused topic related to women’s experiences, health, or equity. Articles must demonstrate independent thought through analysis, reflection, interviews, or community-based perspectives, rather than summarizing existing sources alone.
Note from Founders 💜
Hi everyone! In order to create the most impactful articles, we encourage you to go beyond simply researching online. Think about how the issues you’re writing about show up in your own communities. Conduct interviews, ask thoughtful questions, and make personal connections to the topic.
We want your work to be original and authentic — not just information copied from websites and reworded. Share your perspective, experiences, and insights, and explore why these issues matter to you and the people around you. The articles that are most powerful combine research with personal reflection, creativity, and real-world observation.
Remember: your voice matters. Use this opportunity to educate others, raise awareness, and contribute something uniquely yours to the conversation about women’s health.
